Sorry to neglect this poor little blog all week! And guess who mentioned that fact to me? My Dad! Hi Dad! Didn't know he even read this blog - LOL!
I'm not linking up to the official Fitness Friday since I'm so far past! Will try to do it this week though. My Dad is here to visit so I have been busy!
But you want to know how I did last week, right? Well, I did not do Wii Fit at all! Not good - I must get on track! I didn't track what I ate either, but I tried to manage portions and stay away from the bad stuff most of the time. In spite of all that - I lost 1 lb. for the week!! Yay!! I really want to keep that weight heading in a downward direction. :)
This week will be a challenge with company and a lot of eating out. We'll see what happens!
How was your week? Have a great new week and remember to just start fresh if you had a challenging week!

Fitness Friday - Any Amount Of Weight Loss Is Good In My World
Sssshhhh - pretend that it is not Saturday yet, just an extended version of Friday - LOL!
Stop by Fitness Friday at Wii Mommies - others are linked up and you can read a humorous post on some excellent lessons learned about the Wii Fit!
Not a great week. I started out the week sick along with hubby and that never turns out well for me in the weight department. I also didn't feel up to exercising at the beginning of the week except for a session of Wii bowling with the family. I don't think that really counts as exercise though it burns more calories than watching TV!
I did manage to lose .5 lb!! Yay - any loss is better than a gain!! I didn't really keep track of what I ate, but tried not to go overboard. I did drink a little water, but not near enough. And I did manage to get 1 Wii Fit session in and added a couple of strength training moves.
On to another week. I hope to do better and lose more than that this week! I want to get more organized and write everything down that I need to do. I need to get better at scheduling my time. Hopefully that will help!
How was your week? Have a healthy, fit new week! If you're struggling, hang in there - do NOT give up! You can do it!

Fitness Friday - My 100th Post
*Giveaway closed
It's Fitness Friday with the Wii Mommies! Stop over there - they have fun stuff happening today and tomorrow!
Yes, it is really my 100th post on this blog! (Keep reading for a giveaway!) Wouldn't it be nice to report weight loss on your 100th post? I think so. I wish I could call this a weight loss blog, but it really is more of a weight struggle blog. This blog is all about being honest and sharing the difficulties as well as successes, so maybe it is appropriate that I have to report a weight gain today. I gained a whole 1 lb this week! :( I did not keep track of what I was eating; I did not drink water; I did not do Wii Fit even once. You can see why it is no surprise that I had a gain.
I do know what I need to do in order to get healthy and lose weight. It's no mystery. I've done it before. I have plenty of healthy recipes, weight loss tools, and the fabulous Wii Fit! My struggle is with motivation. I thought about saying that I struggle with commitment too, but if I am motivated, then I can be committed. So it's all about the motivation!
If you've been reading here a while, you know that I don't beat myself up over a gain - it doesn't help me. I start fresh and try again. One good thing that I can say is that over the past 7-8 months, I have stayed below my starting (maximum) weight. It's the longest amount of time without an overall weight gain in the last 4 years or so I think. So that's good. But not good enough! I need to get some weight off for my health and my comfort!
I started this blog to help me get healthy and lose weight, to share healthy recipes and tips, and to talk about the struggles along the way. Now that I am at my 100th post - I would love some feedback from you!
Finally - the giveaway! I have a $10 Starbucks card to give to one random commenter!! All you have to do to be entered is leave a comment with some feedback for me about this blog. What do you like about it? What do I need to add? What should I change? How often should I post? I really do appreciate your help! If you would like an extra entry, subscribe (or tell me that you already do) and leave a separate comment and/or post about it on your blog or on twitter and leave a separate comment. The giveaway will be open until Monday night 3/16 to give you plenty of time. I will post the winner on Tuesday 3/17!
Why a Starbucks card for a healthy blog? It's one of my favorite places to have a treat that doesn't ruin my weight loss efforts. Here are some of the healthier treats I enjoy there:
Grande Skinny Flavored Latte (hazelnut or caramel)
Venti Iced Skinny Flavored Latte
Caramel Frappuccino Light - Double-Blended (makes it creamier with no ice chunks)
Oatmeal
Reduced Fat Coffee Cake
Petite Vanilla Scone
Thanks for stopping by on Fitness Friday and following my ramblings! Thank you to all of you who come by to read my blog even when I haven't posted as often! Please leave me some feedback and get that giveaway entry!

99th Post
Tomorrow will be my 100th post on this blog! So exciting!
I have a main blog that I post at much more regularly, and was never sure if I would be able to keep this one up as well. I haven't posted as much here lately, but am thinking more about what kinds of things to post.
That's what I would like you to be thinking about. What would you like to see more of here? What kinds of things bring you back to this blog? What's missing?
On tomorrow's 100th post, there will be a giveaway and I'll be asking for your feedback. So, think about it, look around and come back tomorrow to leave your feedback in a comment!
Thanks!
Lisa :)

Fitness Friday - Wii Had Fun
It's time for Fitness Friday with Wii Mommies! I'll get the weight news out of the way first - no change from last week. That's not great since last week I gained! As usual, I will keep on working at it. I only did Wii Fit once last week and I was not good about tracking what I ate. I hope to do better this week. I should be motivated by my hubby - he has been consistently going to the gym 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks or so and has lost weight!
The Wii Olympics were last Saturday at Wii Mommies. I didn't post any of my scores, but I attempted everything that I had unlocked. We decided to make it a family event. My hubby, son and I all did the 5 events (modifying the ones we didn't all have unlocked). We added up our total scores and the winner was to choose a treat for the family. My son won by 4 pts overall! Hubby was second and I was last. Guess I have some work to do. We had so much fun being in competition with each other!
We decided that we will hold our own family Wii Olympics once a month. We will all need to do some training in between. We will list out several different events that we would like to compete in and randomly draw 5 of the events each month. We will each get 3 tries at each event, with our best score recorded. We'll decide what the winner gets each month. Doesn't that sound like fun?
How was your week? Did you participate in the Wii Olympics? Have you found a way to get the whole family involved in using Wii Fit?
Have a wonderful weekend! And remember to check out Mel's Five Point Friday for some healthy meal ideas to try out!

I was delighted to hear that my blog is included in the list, under the Losing Weight category! I guess I would feel happier about it if I was doing a better job of actually losing weight - LOL!
What are your favorite healthy mom blogs?

Healthy Recipe: Chicken-Tortellini Soup
Oh, I was so happy to find this recipe in one of my cookbooks the other day! I found it in Pillsbury - Good For You! and it is considered a 20-min. recipe! Excellent! It was delicious and a good alternative to the usual chicken noodle soup, but with that same comforting feeling.
Chicken-Tortellini Soup
2 cans (14 oz. each) fat-free chicken broth with 1/3 less sodium
3 cups water
5-6 medium green onions, sliced (1/3 cup)
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 lb precut chicken breast chunks or 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-in. pieces
1 pkg (9 oz) refrigerated cheese-filled tortellini
1 cup chopped fresh spinach
1 cup frozen sweet peas
1. In 3-quart saucepan, mix broth, water, onions, basil and garlic. Heat to boiling. Stir in chicken and tortellini. Reduce heat to medium; simmer uncovered 4 minutes.
2. Add spinach and peas; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until spinach is wilted, tortellini is tender and chicken is no longer pink in center. If desired, season to taste with pepper.
Makes 4 servings (2 cups each)
Per serving: 190 cal., 6 g fat, 2 g fiber, 4 pts
Try it out and see what you think!
